The Index

The Normal Crypto Index is our flagship crypto index tracking all cryptocurrencies with at least a $1 billion market capitalization. This is the very first crypto index we created to make investing in the very best cryptos fast and cheap. When it was launched, the Normal Crypto Index contained around 50 different assets, but over the past few months, it’s grown to over 100!

Returns

Over the past year, the Normal Crypto Index has returned 107%. Compared to the S&P 500’s annual return of 28.12%. It’s important to note that during this time, the max drawdown of the Normal Crypto Index was around 26% in September of 2023. Monthly returns currently sit at 10.78% and quarterly returns are 43.93%, with the S&P 500 equivalents being 2.7% and 10.8% respectively.

Allocations

Most ETFs, mutual funds, and other index investment products use market caps, and sometimes custom values, to create their asset allocation percentages. Applying this method to the Normal Crypto Index would work, but would result in Bitcoin accounting for over 50% of the index. This

Assets

The most notable assets of the Normal Crypto Index are naturally the largest cryptos by market capitalization:

Ethereum (8.2%)
Binance Coin (3.71%)
Solana (3.69%)
XRP (2.32%)
DogeCoin (2.17%)

The remaining assets each have allocations less than 2% with the lowest being 0.40%. Due to the high number of assets in the Normal Crypto Index, we recommend a minimum investment of $250 to ensure all assets are purchased successfully in your investment.

Fees

All crypto indexes on Normal have a 0.50% investment fee collected at the time of investment. Our fee structure is slightly different than the traditional expense ratio you may be familiar with due to the unique value our indexes provide. By investing in crypto using a Normal index, you can enter the market with 6x less fees than you’d usually pay using an exchange or other on-ramp.
